Drut Fabric Manager (DFM)

Streamlining Resource Management with Drut Fabric Manager

The Drut Fabric Manager (DFM) serves as the operational control center for the photonic fabric, managing a dynamic pool of resources—including CPUs, GPUs, memory, storage, and IPUs. DFM enables the creation of machines from this resource pool and programs the photonic switch (PXC) to configure these machines as needed. This unique capability ensures seamless dynamic fabric operations. By leveraging data from Fabric Interface Cards, DFM facilitates real-time programming and reprogramming of the PXC for optimal outcomes. It also supports end-to-end orchestration with run-time attach/detach of system devices without disrupting the BIOS or operating system.
