Tools/Benchmarking/System QA Engineer

Full-Time, Greater Boston Area (Nashua, NH)

Drut is a stealth startup in greater Boston area, creating an infrastructure solution for our enterprise/ data center customers involving software, hardware, firmware and other elements. In this role, you will own and contribute with building tools, development/test environments for customer solutions. You will also work closely with other engineers and customers to help build proof-of-concept and other test scenarios.   


Responsibilities:  

  • Design, develop and implement comprehensive QA test plans and test cases and setup infrastructure for testing.
  • Contribute in all aspects of verification, including functional, structural, regression, stress, stability and system testing.
  • Run regression tests and perform both white and black box testing against releases.
  • Document, troubleshoot and isolate problems encountered during testing.
  • Use defined tools to create test automation both at the functional and system level. 
  • Evaluate and test software programs to verify all assigned projects function according to customer requirements.
  • Ability to create and execute test scripts for both manual and automation.
  • Prepare detailed report and analysis of all defects, risks, and issues identified during testing of all assigned projects.
  • Work together with developers to resolve all identified defects, risks, and issues identified during testing.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production-level issues, and support production releases.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality and documentation.
  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing.


Required Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge in the QA process, and experience in Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Working experience with RestApi, Soap, Redfish protocols.
  • Strong knowledge in tools, like SilkCentral, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills in production environment.
  • Self-motivated, with good communication skills and works independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced and dynamic environment 


Experience:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of cumulative experience in testing software and hardware based products.
  • Required hands-on experience in Functional/Regression/Integration Testing with a background of Linux/Unix OS. 
  • Programming/test automation knowledge of Shell/Python/Tcl scripting/Selenium framework is a plus.
  • Represent/lead discussions related to system requirements 
  • Tracks and reports on the test execution in a timely manner.
  • Compare/Analyze system behavior based on test conditions. 
  • Participate and contribute to internal design reviews with testing methodologies.
  • Support field/customer issues, help provide root cause analysis.
  • Perform iterative stress testing to uncover any latent issues.
  • Startup experience is a big plus

  • Traffic Generator : Ixia, Load Runner
  • Network Sniffer : Wireshark, Ethereal, Lecroy
  • Bench marking Tools : DiskSpd, 3DMark Benchmark Fire Strike, Final Fantasy XV, Unigine Heaven DX11  
  • Perform Testing using RedFish Test Framework   


Other Requirements:

  • Bachelors/Master of Engineering in any discipline with relevant QA experience
